I’m going to keep this one short, as I’ve attached a letter we recently sent out to our village by email. It provides an important update on my health and also highlights that it is ALS Awareness Month.
Normally, during May, I would post often for ALS Awareness Month—sharing updates, raising awareness, and doing everything I can to keep this fight visible. But this year, things are a little different.
It has become much more challenging for me to use a computer mouse, and I no longer type.
Technology is truly amazing, and I’m incredibly grateful for it—but it also comes with a learning curve and limitations. Right now, I’m learning to use a device that lets me control my computer mouse with head movements. When I need to click or double-click, I use a switch—a large button taped to my office chair with double-sided tape that I press with my elbow.
It’s an incredible tool, but there is definitely a big learning curve, and I’m still adjusting.
Please take a moment to read the attached letter, as it provides a meaningful update on my health journey and where things currently stand.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support, encouragement, and for being part of our village during ALS Awareness Month and beyond.
