About Us

A wonderful son, loving husband and father, amazing friend, competitive athlete, and all-around LIFE OF THE PARTY are but just a few of the ways to describe Michael “Frosty” Foster.

Frosty has a passion for life, his family, and his friends. He loves being active and playing sports, including basketball, beach volleyball, swimming, and his favorite… golf! He bleeds Michigan State Green and White and was a varsity soccer player for the Spartans.

In 2020, Frosty  felt some weakness in his right hand and his muscles twitched under his skin. After numerous doctor visits Frosty was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (“ALS”), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Frosty and his family were devastated. With a 2-5 year life expectancy for ALS, he was told to go home, spend time with family, get organized, plan, and prepare for the inevitable. After letting this news sink in, the Fosters went into action and are now preparing for extremely difficult times ahead. Frosty is facing partial paralysis that will sadly progress to near complete incapacity. Needless to say, this diagnosis will very quickly affect the Fosters day-to-day lives. This is where YOU come in!

Team Frosty originated as a way for a close-knit group of people to try and help out someone they love. We are a group of friends, family, and members of the community who want to show love and support to Frosty and his beautiful family, while also increasing awareness about the terrible disease of ALS. There are immediate needs for us to assist with – the most pressing is making their entire home wheelchair-accessible. Then there are the next-stage needs, like hiring a caregiver and purchasing medical equipment for mobility, speech, and daily life functions.

Frosty and his family continue to strive to make the most of each day, but IT TAKES A VILLAGE. The Fosters have always been there for their family, friends, and community… now it is our time to be there for them. GO TEAM FROSTY!

Team Frosty is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to raising funds and awareness for ALS. All donations are tax-deductible and directly support our mission to make a difference in the ALS community. Thank you for your support!
